Starting Out In Rearing Rabbits

Starting out in rearing rabbits can be considered a challenge reason being rabbits are raised in a different way when compared to other livestock. They feed on various food and their living conditions will vary as well. Bunnies turn to eat more and grow faster after weaning. And when the day-length is reduced they are more efficient in their eating of food.

1st time mothers are poor mothers and have a high mortality rate. The reason behind this is the time of their first conception and appetite when they are pregnant. Steps to grow their appetite and wellbeing is to use specialized feeding programs that are implemented months before you commence breeding them.

But again the nice thing on raising rabbits is that they may be raised almost anywhere. You do not need a lot of land and enormous shelters. Just get a small steel cage that is put in a safe place and your bunnies will have a place they call home. Yet that doesn't mean that you shouldn't provide your rabbits with some space so they can run around.

Also be sure to provide your bunnies with healthy food. Rabbits are vegetarians and like eating chewy veggies and carrots. You can also supply them with pellets so they grow stronger and healthy. Supply them with clean water each day and clean their cage every once in a while.

Before you bring your bunnies make sure that all is in place and you will be a happy bunny owner. You can also cuddle your bunnies since they are affectionate animals.
